A.C.T.S. Grid

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

About the A.C.T.S. prayer method and the A.C.T.S. Grid Bible Verse Study.

What does A.C.T.S. stand for in prayer?

A.C.T.S. stands for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication — four parts of prayer: praising God for who He is, confessing sin, thanking Him for what He has done, and bringing requests to Him.

Is the A.C.T.S. prayer model in the Bible?

The acronym itself is not in the Bible, but each part is. Adoration (Psalm 145), confession (1 John 1:9), thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), and supplication (Ephesians 6:18) all appear throughout Scripture, and the Lord's Prayer contains similar movements.

What is the A.C.T.S. Grid Bible Verse Study?

It is a free website that lets you enter any Bible verse or passage and reflect on it through the four A.C.T.S. parts. You can fill in the grid yourself first, or view a guided reflection, a prayer prompt, and deeper reasoning for each part.

How do I use the A.C.T.S. Grid?

Type a reference such as John 3:16 or Psalm 23, choose a translation, and press Analyze. Then choose to write your own reflections or see the guidance. You can also use today's reading from a reading plan or tap Surprise me for a random passage.

Which Bible translations are available?

The English Standard Version (ESV) is the default. The King James Version (KJV), World English Bible, American Standard Version, Young's Literal Translation, Bible in Basic English, and Open English Bible are also available.

Is the Bible text generated by AI?

No. The verse text always comes directly from a Bible source and is never written or altered by AI. Only the reflections around the verse are AI-assisted.

Can the reflections contain mistakes?

Yes. The reflections are generated with AI from online research and can make mistakes. Use them as a learning and reinforcement tool, open your Bible, and test everything against Scripture.

Do I need an account?

No. You can study any verse without signing up or logging in.

Is the A.C.T.S. Grid free?

Yes, the A.C.T.S. Grid Bible Verse Study is free to use.

Can I share a verse study with someone?

Yes. The page link includes the verse and translation, so anyone who opens it sees the same passage and reflection.

Why is there no verse of the day on Sundays?

The reading plans used for the verse of the day rest on Sundays, so the verse of the day pauses. You can still study any passage you like.

Is A.C.T.S. good for kids or small groups?

Yes. Its simple four-letter structure is easy to remember, which makes it popular for children, families, youth groups, and small group prayer times.
